Massacre Day on cable news

It’s Massacre Day on cable news.

Fox News thanked Tucker Carlson for his lies service as they escorted him to the door.

Why?

Don Lemon (left), Tucker Carlson

No one is saying yet, but the leaks will start soon.

Was his head demanded in the Dominion Voting settlement?

I doubt it, but Carlson seemed to be a growing liability.

It is very unusual for a network to dump its top-rated host — but that is not Carlson.

Actually, The Five is Fox’s top-rated show. Just for the record.

Maybe two hours later, Don Lemon announced he was let go by CNN, following his demotion from prime-time to mornings a few months ago.

At the time, Lemon denied it was a demotion, which was another delusion of his.

Hard Right and Hard Left hit hard.

These things happen in threes.

Is MSNBC’s Joy Reid in hiding?

Dumping her would make for a fabulous troika.

  1. As they say – this is a good start. My only concern is who will replace them? Things don’t generally happen for the better, although one can hope. I know – silly boy!

  2. Two down and that witch, Joy Reid, to go. Life may be good until we see what horrors replace them.

    1. MSNBC should get rid of their far left loons like Cryin’ Chris Matthew’s, Lyin’ Larry O’Donnell and the ever execrable shrew, Rachel Maddow.

      1. Please list any factual errors Rachel Maddow has had on her show. I think maybe you are afraid of intellect.

      2. So I guess your a Trump fan that likes to use petty nick names when you have no facts.

  3. Carlson will land at another far right network where he can continue his dissension and lies.

    1. I’m guessing probably not soon. From what I’ve read, Fox is obligated to pay him his entire salary, $20 million a year. Given they fired him in the first quarter, that means there’s about $15 million left on his contract. I’m not privy to his employment contract, but my guess is that if he goes elsewhere before the end of the contract he forfeits that salary. In other words, if he “remarries” he loses his “alimony.” Also, as Stu can tell you, the $15 mil he will get for not working is probably contingent on a “non-disparagement clause” which means that Tucker can’t say word one against Fox.

This would explain his complete silence on his firing, which is surprising from a guy who is ordinarily not shy about sharing his opinions or “just asking questions” about possible nefarious reasons for an event.

So my guess is that he’s waiting for his lawyer(s) to tell him what he can and can’t do under the terms of his agreement. I wouldn’t be surprised if Fox learned from its firing of Glenn Beck and Bill O’Reilly, and expanded the terms in the contract to cover things like streaming services, pod casts and other new media.

      1. Tom knows (I think) I am being sued by the Inquirer for “violating” a non disclosure agreement. In related news, the NLRB recently ruled that most NDA’s are overly broad and probably illegal.

  4. What exactly were the lies? This is bad news for FOX and good news for Tucker. He’s going to make a lot more money.

    1. He was both a shill for Trump on screen and hated him as stated off screen. Lacking in character in multiple ways. Yes, he will probably make more money as he moves ahead, because our society rewards those who are not so deserving.

      1. Carlson is a phony patriot who supports murderers like Putin, and autocrats like Orban & Erdogan. He should move to Trump Towers, Moscow and work for RT.

    1. He already is rich. His stepmother was a Swanson’s heir. He was, like George W. Bush, born with a platinum foot in his mouth.

    2. As I said above, he gets paid his $20 million for doing nothing. As they say, nice work if you can get it.

  5. I guess that he and Lemon cancel eachother out. So, no biggie unless you are still out a ton of Money.

  6. I have not watched either so I will not be missing them. Based on what I have heard about them maybe they’ve reached a point in their careers where they should try a new profession. Maybe journalism!

    1. Don did practice journalism (at NNC10) and was a good reporter. I think fame and self love seduced him from fact gathering to dumb opinion spouting.
